EMN Hungary

The XXIII. National Conference of the European Migration Network (EMN) Hungarian National Contact Point on „Transnational Cooperation on the Identification, Assistance and Referral of Third Country National Victims of Human Trafficking” will take place on 15 October 2019 in the Ministry of Interior, in Budapest. The aim of the conference is to outline the transnational identification, assistance and referral practices for third country nationals who are victims of human trafficking across Europe.

Since 2008, the Department of European Cooperation of the Ministry of Interior serves as the EMN national contact point of Hungary. Its members are migration and asylum experts.

The one-day conference on 15 October will present the challenges posed by the cross-border nature of the phenomenon of human trafficking, will describe good practices and will outline the framework for transnational cooperation.

Presentations will be delivered by experts from government agencies, international organizations and Hungarian and international NGOs, and will cover all aspects of the phenomenon through four thematic units: victim protection, prosecution, partnership and prevention.
