From Tampere 20 to Tampere 2.0: The conference of EMN and the Finnish Presidency

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Tampere conclusions, EMN and the Finnish Presidency jointly organized a conference on the future of Europe’s migration and asylum policies in Helsinki, on the 24th and 25th of October 2019.Representatives of several Member States and interantional organizations participated in the event.

New EMN study published: Attracting innovative migrant entrepreneurs into Europe

Over half of the EU Member States consider that attracting and retaining innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups from countries outside the EU will promote a vibrant entrepreneurial culture. What are the main pull factors and requirements for foreign start-up founders and employees? A new study from the European Migration Network reveals good practices and challenges from 25 EU Member States.

The XXIII. National Conference of the European Migration Network (EMN) Hungarian National Contact Point on „Transnational Cooperation on the Identification, Assistance and Referral of Third Country National Victims of Human Trafficking” will take place on 15 October 2019 in the Ministry of Interior, in Budapest. The aim of the conference is to outline the transnational identification, assistance and referral practices for third country nationals who are victims of human trafficking across Europe.

EMN HU NCP study visit to the htspot of Kos, Greece in August 2018

The aim of the study visit organized within the framework of the European Migration Network was to see the hotspot and related facilities set up on the island of Kos in Greece. We also wanted to get acquainted with the work of the Greek authorities and the work of EU agencies supporting the authorities and other international organizations.

The visit took place on 28-30 August 2018, following preliminary consultations with the Greek authorities and with an expert from the EU Commission Directorate General for Migration and Internal Affairs (DG Home).
